CURRIER & Associates Announces Completion
of Two Major Assisted Living Projects
Newburyport, Mass.—June 5, 2008—CURRIER & Associates, Inc., a full-service interior design firm specializing in creating enriching environments for living, healing and working, today announced the completion of two major projects for Benchmark Assisted Living of Wellesley, Mass.
One project, Haverhill Crossings in Haverhill, Mass., features Benchmark’s innovative “Harbor Program” designed for providing customized care for residents already diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. Nationally recognized, the Harbor Program features meaningful daily activities and a focus on each resident’s individual needs and interests.
The other project, The Village at Brookfield Commons in Brookfield, Conn., includes “The Lighthouse,” a unique and highly personalized program from Benchmark for seniors beginning to experience mild memory impairment. The Lighthouse helps residents remain active, engaged and stimulated, through recreation, exercise, outings and entertainment, personalized service plans, specially trained staff, and access to the Memory Center cognitive retraining program.
Recognized as design experts within the aging population market, CURRIER has an in-depth understanding of the needs of Alzheimer’s and senior residents.
For Haverhill Crossings, CURRIER created the interiors of the 22-resident dedicated Harbor Unit, including the model apartment, the country kitchen, the spa and salon, the library, and three specific “journey” stations that allow residents to connect with past memories. These stations included a travel café with a European flair, “night on the town” for dress up, and an artist’s corner, complete with easel paints and masterwork art displayed.
At The Village at Brookfield, CURRIER created the interiors for a dedicated Lighthouse to house up to 26 residents. Specific details included a country kitchen, spa, open area living room for socialization, activity room, and another more private living room. Additionally, CURRIER designed a designated area that provides comfort for the staff while also allowing them to remain visible to the residents.
“It has been exciting for us to help create the interiors that support Benchmark in bringing the latest innovations in senior care to the aging population,” said Sharon Currier, president of CURRIER. “We were delighted to deliver our in-depth knowledge of this market and comprehensive design skills, combined with our passion for beauty to these projects.”
Since 1979, CURRIER has built a reputation of excellence and integrity, completing more than 800 projects for senior living, healthcare, hospitality, commercial, institutional and residential clients.
