Seabrook, NH The fitness facility entails more than 38,000 sq.ft. The owner wanted a bold, contemporary design, which elicits a “WOW” when entering for the first time. In response, the total design is edgy and energetic to mirror the active mission of the facility. The lobby sets the tone of energy and movement as its water wall’s constant flow provides the subliminal message of the facility: keep moving. The next space is a juice bar and seating, a transitional space which is restful enough to complement ‘cool-down’ but vibrant enough to blend into the total scheme. This was accomplished by adding neutral tones to the dynamic color palate of purples, reds, silver and butter cream, which is used in the rest of the facility. An adjacent “Kids’ World” is bright and accomplishes the need to provide a stimulating environment while parents exercise. The primary workout room has 35 ft. ceilings and huge mirrors which magnify the motion to the observers in the overhead seating area. Exercising in a room with strong colors provides a unique sense of reinforcement, which is felt throughout the entire facility. |
